Day 5. Friday, April 18.
Where I Went:
Work & home. My favorite kind of Friday!
I had the same as yesterday. Chorizo meatballs, roasted broccoli & half an avocado. Simple & easy.
FINALLY gave my taco craving a fix & went to Chipotle for lunch. Technically their meat has sugar in its marinade. It’s a trade off I have decided to allow myself, as their meat is hormone free, etc. I went with the Barbacoa & it was as good as I wanted it to be.
C cooked dinner tonight & he did an amazing job making sure everything was Whole30, including making me my own BBQ sauce from Well Fed 2. He made baby back ribs, vinegar coleslaw & sweet potato fries. I only ate about half of what he put on my plate up there….
…and then our dog proceeded to sneak away a pork bone from us, making me check his breathing every 30 seconds for the rest of the night. I now know no matter how well behaved a dog is, if you leave a bowl of bones on the coffee table and leave him alone in the room with them, nature will overcome nurture.
I also had an iced coconut coffee and a coconut milk latte later in the night. It is Friday after all! :)
Woke up feeling:
Good. Slight stomach cramps? These are more gastrointestinal cramps than the stomach pains I was feeling Wednesday. Not sure what I ate yesterday that could have given me those. But it may be my body adjusting. I’m going to focus on drinking a lot of water today.
Fell asleep feeling:
I stayed up all the way to midnight! Thanks to my evening coffee binge. I didn’t want to fall asleep at 9:30 on a weekend night. Though Saturday may be different.
I did my physical therapy exercises today (I’m supposed to do them every-other-day right now, and stretch at least once a day) and I felt amazing during & after them. I’m a little upset that this Whole30 is marred by my injury & therefore there is no gym time to brag about throughout the process. But I chose to do Whole30 because I can’t go to the gym. I’m learning patience & persistence right now, that’s for sure.
